RAN Biotech’s patented Rapid Microbe Detection (RMD™) materials are designed to capture microbes via affinity. In addition to capture, the RMD materials can be used to concentrate, detect, isolate and even identify microbes. Furthermore, the RMD materials can be activated for the capture of nucleic acids or even magnetized.

We have optimized a process that allows for molecular biology and sequencing-based identification of the captured microbes from the detection assays.

RMD Products

  • RMD 1/2-0.2 mL – Aqueous suspension of proprietary RMD 1/2 resins designed to universally capture microbes. Typically 20 μL is recommended for 0.1-1 mL samples.
  • RMD 1/2 GM-1.2 mL – Aqueous suspension of proprietary RMD 1/2 resins mixed with a growth medium designed to help detect microbes. Typically 120 μL is recommended for 0.1-1 mL samples.
  • ***NEW PRODUCT!*** RMDMag-0.2 mL – Aqueous suspension of proprietary Magnetic RMD resins designed to universally capture microbes and to respond to a magnetic field. Typically 20 μL is recommended for 0.1-1 mL samples.
  • ViewerDevice – Patent-pending ViewerDevice assists in collecting and analyzing images of the visible RMD Pellet. Mobile phone is optional.
